FAQs
What is the Sports Impact Fund
See the descriptive page on this site. You can also have a look at the Fund established for The Arts http://www.artsimpactfund.org as we are trying to replicate this model for Sport.
Who is Supporting you?
We are in discussions with some exciting partners, and we hope to announce these shortly after our launch. We need a wide range of stakeholders to get behind this idea. We need to be sure there is demand and we can meet the ambition of the sector, so we are looking for sports landscape partners, sports NGBs, Charities, commercial sponsors and the banking sector to back the campaign.
We have created an informal Stakeholder group with DCMS, Cabinet Office, StreetGames, Supporters Direct, Sport England, Sport Wales, RFU, FA, UKactive, Sport and Recreation Alliance, Numbers for Good and The Sports Think Tank. We have also consulted widely with some feasibility work carried out by The Cabinet Office. After some further scoping work we will be expanding our reach in the existing sector and will be looking to broaden our work in Autumn 2016
When will you be able to receive requests for funding?
The initial part of the campaign is to establish support in the sector for the SiF concept and if the feasibility shows demand we will need to raise the capital. We will let you know as soon as we can about a launch for the SiF.
Is this an England only initiative?
No we hope that subject to discussions we will be able to offer the service across the UK.
How can we/I help?
We need widespread support from all sports and physical activity organisations to demonstrate their is the need and capacity to make use of the SiF. Please add your support by contacting us and follow us on twitter for more news @sportimpactfund
