The Sport Impact Fund (SiF) is a new initiative set up to demonstrate the potential for social investment in the Sport and Physical Activity Sector.
The idea of the Fund will be to offer repayable finance to sports organisations working in England – and hopefully the rest of the UK – that can show how they are sustainable; have great sports development ambitions; and have a positive impact on society. These are business loans – not grants.
Founder Andy Reed said “We are provisionally scoping the work needed to set up a sport specific Fund. We are working with a range of partners and promoting the scheme to the Cabinet Office and DCMS. The Arts already have a fund backed by the Arts Council. We aim to get as many sports bodies to back this campaign as possible and are currently working to launch in September 2015. We want to be joined by as many sports bodies, government departments and potential investors and sponsors, so please be in touch if you would like to support us”.
