Following the publication of the Government Sports Strategy which clearly identified the need for a range of new finance products for sports the first meeting of a Steering Group was held today at the offices of the Sport and Recreation Alliance. The group has been convened by Andy Reed the founder of this campaign and kindly hosted by the SRA.
The room contained representatives from Sport England, SRA, Number for Good, FA, RFU, SOHK, Sports Think Tank, LTA, Supporters Direct StreetGames, Cabinet Office, DCMS and Sport Wales.
Andy Reed said “Having completed a round of discussions with many of these organisations individually it was right to bring us all together and explore how we should advance this project. Whilst it is early days there was enough support in the room to ensure this will happen!
